For Domestic Hire Machines we generally hire out the Janome J3-24 models. These are robust and very easy to use, making them accessible for sewists of all abilities. They come with bobbins, needles and standard feet (zip foot, buttonhole foot, satin stitch foot, standard zig-zag foot and blind hem foot)

For our Industrial Hire Machines we generally hire out the Juki DDL-8700 machines with silent servo motor and speed control capability. These are very strong, high speed machines that will be able to sew a wide range of material from lightweight to medium heavy materials. These are supplied with bobbins, needles, the standard straight stitch foot and Oil. All industrials will come built complete with the machine head, table and stand on wheels which are lockable.

We recommend pre-booking your hire machine where possible to avoid disappointment.

Instruction Manuals can be emailed across in PDF format to assist those who are unfamiliar with these machines.

Deliveries & Collections of Hire Machines: 

• Hire machines can be collected in store OR we can arrange a local courier to collect from us and deliver to you at a cost. Please email us with your delivery address for a delivery quote.
• You can also arrange your own courier to collect from the shop address.
• If you are arranging your own courier please let us know when to expect them and make sure they have straps to secure the machines (especially industrial machines)

Terms and Conditions: 

• Please make sure your hire machine is returned with all of the accessories it came with (except used needles)
• There will be charges for any missing accessories at the end of the hire period.
• You can call us or email us to extend your hire period if you need more time with the machine.
• Please make sure you return your machine within the agreed time. Additional charges will be added for machines not returned on time.

How to hire a sewing machine

To book in your hire machine, please email us or call us with your details. There will be a hire form to fill out on site in the store or via email (where the machine is going to, details of the person hiring, start and end hire dates etc)

Domestic Hires are available per day, per week, per month, 2 months or 3 months. Industrial Hires are available for a minimum of 1 week, per month, 2 months, 3 months etc.
